My favorite ride at Disneyland is now a distant memory....

I miss the good ol' submarine ride!
It opened  on June 6th 1958. The attraction was supposed to feature live fish and sea creatures but was ruled unfeasible due to the different climates that were featured in the ride. They weren't taxidermied! We should make our own with taxidermied fish and monkey part sewn together with fish parts to make them look like real mermaids.

Start picking up road kill let's get started haha.

i used to think they were taxidermied back when i was a boy genius. little did i know they are an intoxicating mix of plaster of paris and "imagination."

You would risk losing your hair and teeth!? and getting all ill?! actually I probably would too we could have made a great team! :( There is still a similar ride in Disneyland Paris but it doesn't include any mermaids.

There is a giant squid in it though!

ack! i just remembered that i have two books about behind-the-scenes-employees-spill-their-zombie-guts books about disneyland, theres a chapter or two on the submarine ride, and i;m letting you borrow them....

for inspiration for screen printing.....yes!

I don't much remember going on the old ride [although I know I did] but I remember when it was just a stagnant lake and you could still see the abandoned track and fish on metal poles in the water..it was like that for so long, it was so sad =[ I do remember the bucket rides though! haha it overlooked the Submarine ride and when through the Matterhorn! Good timessss

Oh yeah and I have a Disneyland book too! When I was younger, I was OBSESSSED with learning about it, NO JOKE, so I know ALL kinds of facts about it! :D
