holiday cookie exchange

The cookie exchange with my coworkers is on Monday! I'm looking for recipes online and am thinking about either snickerdoodles, biscotti, or chocolate chocolate chip cookies. I can't make chocolate chip because I made chocolate chip oatmeal last year. Please let me know if anyone has a great cookie recipe to share!

stick w/ the original

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (12-ounce package)Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels (Hershey's are yummy, but toll house works too)
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

PREHEAT oven to 375° F.

COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

a slight variation would be to put a cup of peanut butter in there too instead of the nuts. Another would be to place M&M on top halfway through baking time :)

Thanks for your input Michou! That's a very good recipe. Too bad my coworker used this for last year's cookie exchange. It's very tasty!
