Well, I put such things in the fridge after I open them, obviously, but I keep the unopened cartons in the cabinet, because my fridge is about 2/3 the size of my old fridge. Maybe only 1/2 size. ;) And no giant chest freezers, either!

Huh! Ultra-pasteurized milk is what I've been buying for a while at Smith's, when I get over there, mostly because of the shelf-life factor. I had no idea, though, that it might not require refrigeration. Live and learn!

Seating for cashiers! What a humane concept! I'm sure this does affect the quality of your interactions! I finally scored a chair after years-long battling at the Bookstore (and this was after the battle for cushioned mats underfoot), but it only advanced the workplace a little, since nothing else about the workstation was designed for a seated cashier.

One of the blessings of retirement, being able to choose when to be on my feet. . .

Yeah they do the same thing with the milk in Germany, but i didn't like the taste of it.
That would seem logical to give the clerks chairs....too bad America is so stupid about it...
