Costume history + the Borgias

There is something that everybody needs to know about me.
/yes I'm that important XD
When I was 13/14 yo, I read The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. (This came after The Count of Montecristo, and actually, at the time I was a hopeless fan of that book and I thought I would never like another one so much). I could not imagine that I would become ( Read more... )

history, *lovely* stuff from my mind, costume, a song of ice and fire

Whatever, whatever your art is gorgeous and fantastic and I bow down to your costume drawing skills. (I have a cool costume book, I'll have to find a picture of the cover!)

Did you know there are two more Japanese manga based on Cesare? Cantarella and Cesare! (The second one used to be online, in English, but that site got taken down and I couldn't find another place it had been posted.)

I knew about Cesare (I like Fuyumi Souryo) but not Cantarella, thank you!
(You're using my icon!... çAç)
For the compliments, too. But I'm difficult to satisfy! XD
Are you interested in costume history, too?

♥ ♥ Cantarella is good in a really gay, demon monsters and hot people kind of way. It's in the yaoi section despite not really being yaoi (yet, anyway!)

I was reading a bunch of books that were set in the 18th century -- between 1745 and the American Revolution -- and I was trying to find good images of what the clothing was like during that time. Which, besides paintings? Is actually kind of sparse so I picked up a costume book that had a few things in it from that time, and other periods as well. I still can't find a good image of Prussian military uniforms to save my life though. I guess my google skills aren't that great.

I understand this need (so we're like the only two people in the world? XD).
But military uniforms... uhm, I suppose this falls under "military history" instead of "costume history".
Which is hard.
