the greatest thing that pops into my mind about this technology is the fact that the average human will have to learn how to discipline hir mind to use it. the more advanced the technology, the more it will "read" our thoughts.

think of how much your thoughts will jump to something completely unrelated to what you were originally thinking. think about how inefficient/unproductive that would be while using brain-wave reading technology.

thus we'd have to discipline our minds greatly

that makes me grin a bit

that is a very good point! i was just talking to a friend who pointed out the inability for most people to concentrate on one thing and how that could interfere with this.. but you've just brought up a good counter-point.. people will be forced to learn that ability.

yes. this technology could definitely indirectly evolve social consciousness in a positive direction
