Bad jokes aside, I'm thinking of joining the YMCA. The montly fee is $45, which is probably about what it would cost elsewhere. The benefit is that I don't have to sign a contract so I'm not bound to it if I decide it's not for me. Plus they're waiving the sign-up fee through the 31st ( Read more... )

you have obviously probably already joined, but my gym is only $30/month. I really love it. That includes a lot of classes and I think the only thing it doesn't have that the Y does is a pool.

The Y is only a mile and a half from my house, which makes it convienent. Where do you go?

I go to the Chicago Fitness Center on Lincoln--right by the Ashland, Belmont, Lincoln 6 corner intersection. It's right by where I work which is why I joined. Plus, the first time you join, if you pay $300 for the whole year in a lump sum, you get 2 months free and for every person you get to join, you get a month free and I've gotten a few friends to join.
