Sounds like the show prep is coming together nicely. Which night is the show? And where is it, actually?
It's pretty awesome to hear that the house is coming through. At this point, I'd already be getting excited about the "moving in" part, which I'm sure you probably are too. Well, you're picking up a house just in time to experience a "first winter as a homeowner," with whatever that entails. A good stress test for the new digs? Making sure the pipes don't freeze, etc. Not that you'll probably have too many worries, what with the place being relatively new and all. And the location should be a boon when it comes to snow on the roads.
Yes, we actually sounded like a band this time. The run through at rehersal was actually a run through, and not a "how does this part go?" learning experience for anybody. The show is on Saturday, Oct. 28th, and the place is called Quinn & Tuite's Irish Pub, in Grand Rapids on Plainfield. http://www.quinnandtuites.com/home.htm . Well, that sounds pretty cool. I did kind of think at the back of my mind that Joe would probably be going to the show, but it sounds like he's Mr. Band himself these days. The music you describe there really fits, too. I have no trouble whatsoever imagining him in a band that does that, even though I've never heard Om, etc. Have they played any shows?
That's funny about the house providing your folks with an opportunity to pick up stuff as well. Makes sense -- I'm sure there's a really contagious new house excitement thing going on. I mean, hell, I've got it and I'm not even around there yet. Heh.
Mmm, maybe I can whip up some of my special Main Street Pizza for a mid-December house warming. It's not too much hassle, and I can usually have it ready in 20 to 25 minutes. It will be nice to know when I can get in to this place...
