The Casual Brutality of Christmas

Dec 31, 2006 00:48

Well, it's Saturday evening and its been over a month again since I've updated. Things have been good overall with the new house this month, though I still need internet and a few visitors. So far Jason has been over quite a bit, but no one else has at all. Joe and Chris, and probably even Josh are the big offenders in my book, heh. I haven't ( Read more... )

That situation sucks. Sorry. This is why I am basically a shut in. Thankfully, I now have a wife. Which makes it nice to be able to have a person always there with me to talk and share similar ideals with. At least you have your own "fortress of solitude" now. We've honestly been meaning to try to make it over for a (very) short visit. Now I have your number. That's good. Apparently you don't have our numbers.

Home: (517) 333 - 0346
Cell (me): (517) 775 - 4039
Cell (Kate): (517) 775 - 4038

and our address is as follows:
Robert and Kathryn Forest
2425 Burnt Tree Ln. Apt. #10
East Lansing, MI 48823

We will be down in your neck of the woods tomorrow, (New Years Day) perhaps we will stop in for a tour of the homestead. I'll call first.

Hey Rob,

Yeah, I don't think I did have your numbers, but now that I think about it, I seem to recall that you probably posted them right on your LJ. I should be around all of New Year's day itself. Tonight I think I am going to be at Joe's with his brother, watching people hit each other in Japan on his new HDTV. Oh, and you are the 1st person to ever send me a text message, BTW. It's good, because my cell voice mail isn't set up right anyway. I guess we'll be in touch.

Hear from you later,

Ben

Funny you should mention MMA. I somehow ended up surfing by Sherdog's front page a week or so ago and I wondered if you guys were still keeping up with the shows. God, I miss MMA.

It's not too often we watch or keep up on MMA, but its still there. If we do watch, it is just Pride any more. UFC, aside from its more american macho metal attitude, seems to have less stars, or at least less "characters" in it. From talking to Josh a bit, it sounds like they are using the Ultimate Fighter TV show on Spike as a base, and basically putting those people in the PPVs now, along with continuing to recycle people like Shamrock who I can't imagine having any draw whatsoever at this point.

Hi Ben, we were by your new digs yesterday (Jan 20, 2007) but I do not think you were home. Richard said the tracks looked like you just left. Sorry we missed you but one of these days we will stop in. Looks like a very nice place.
