It's always creepy when you meet someone you've imagined, described but never actually seen before. There's a guy in my choir who I can't talk to because I'm so embarrassed at meeting. I'm sure if I called him Alaric he would answer.... anyone else ever met someone from their stories?

I've never met someone from a story I wrote (and yes, that sounds awkward! What do you say?), but I have done the opposite-- taking bit and pieces of people from real life to characterize people in stories. It's never someone in their entirety though. Do you do this? --Imo

I do tend to take little things from people, but I've never taken a whole person and written them... that's why it was such a shock to see this guy! :P

I tend to take more characteristics than appearances from people. Does that make sense?

Yes, me too. It's simple enough to make up how someone looks but harder to build an original character that's believable. --Imo
