Sorry to be posting two things in one day- quite a major news event is affecting my family this week, and it's made me think...

No, I hadn't heard of this disease, and I don't know anyone who suffers from it. The only disease I've heard of that sounds vaguely similar to CFS is Mono, except that younger people usually suffer from it and it generally goes away after a time.

It sounds like a very difficult thing to live with. Are you hoping that the legislation will improve care for your mother and other people with the disease?

Well, the legislation will change the approved treatment- either encouraging new medical research into other ways to treat ME, or continuing to treat it as I described above. So it'll either dramatically improve conditions, or set everything back another decade.

It's thought that my best friend has it, so I really hope that it goes your way; people really don't know how much it changes lives. I never even heard about ME until the doctors started throwing that around, so it's nice to hear that it's getting some awareness.
Fingers crossed! Let us know how it goes.

Oh, my best wishes to your friend!

There's a good book on M.E which helped me understand it a lot better- it's called "I'm Not Crazy, I'm Just a Little Unwell" by a guy called Leigh Hatcher.
