I had the opposite problem with LJ - I could read and update my own pages, but not see any of my f/l. I finally found something in the help section that said that some users (me, of course!) were experiencing difficulties reading their f/l using Internet Explorer. I switched to Netscape and voila! Everything looked fine. I still can't imagine a technical glitch that would allow you to read your own journal with IE but not your friend's journals. I don't know how that would happen...but I guess it is still better than the Rupert Murdoch piece of shit My Space that seems to have totally random technical glitches about 17 times a day.
It really sucks to be stalked at a bookstore...a bookstore should be a sanctuary, a place surrounded by looney-repelling death rays...the one place you know you can go to find peace and decent coffee even if the end of the world were imminent. Hopefully the creep and all his invisible friends have successfully located SSI by now so that your next trip to the B&N will be devoid of bad craziness!
Lj has been retarded lately. I have more problems with it now than ever before, mainly it is the lj program that I have issue with. Thus explaining why I tend to give up on trying to update as often as I used to. It gets a little old after a while when you spend like 30 minutes typing a huge entry and then losing the whole damn thing when you go to post it

I know what you mean about the selection at B&N...I can never get anything I want off the shelf there. It's just the combination of the smell of coffee and the smell of new books that feeds my addiction, but almost all my favorite books these days are bought on-line or borrowed from friends. I could spend hours on the A.K. Press website (http://www.akpress.org)or plowing through Amazon used books for specific titles..but then you have to wait for them to ship it to you and that sucks when you really have a craving for a new book NOW! It's too bad you can't buy your books elsewhere and then just go into B&N to read them...of course the other good thing about ordering on-line is that you don't run into crazed stalkers! :-)
Sorry to hear about your knee. I've never made a Workmen's Comp claim, but I am guessing they don't let you go to a different doctor for your follow-up visits. Health care in this country just sucks.
It's not just St. Augustine. The Barnes over here *never* has a damn thing I want. I've taken to ordering online... which sucks because I find joy in "discovering" I book I want at a bookstore. The Border's in Long Beach is a little better so I go there. Only thing is that one attracts the college kids. =\
Hey you.....I got your meesage you left me at work. I was in a production meeting and then did lunch. I do wish you luck. I hope all turns out well and as it should. What a stupid mess this has all become huh?
Sorry to hear Chris has been sick. I can sympathize. M and I have both taken turns with the crud going around and now we are getting sick again. People please stay home with your kids when they/you are sick and spare the rest of us!!!!! Oh and while I'm on that...People, wash your hands!!!!!!! Sounds like you have been having sooo much fun. I too hate it when I am reading and people just assault me with unwanted conversation or make enough noise that I cannot focus on what I'm trying to read!!! Makes me borderline violent!!! Well...say hello to Chris for us and get back with me when you can!
Well, I totally thought you weren't updating anymore but I stopped by here anyhow after I listened to my voicemails. (How you left a message without leaving a missed call I will never know.) Jesus Christ you have been through a lot. I wish I had something of interest to report, but I am simply rotting away worst than ever and I can't even put my finger on what exactly my deal is.. Huh..
Oh yeah, I forgot... The SSI process took almost 5 months to complete for me. I had to go through appointments and such that I wouldn't have even been able to cope going through with if I was just a hair worse off. It sucked but it was worth it. My parents are broke and the money is helping me to take care of my basic shit so they don't have to. Funny thing is all I can think about is the reevaluation in three years and how I pray to god I will have gotten myself more stable by then. Stable enough to work, I mean. This whole thing has made me feel more worthless than ever
