There have been, lately, a number of really critical natural disasters world-wide, and so I thought this would be a good time to do one of my periodic charitable giving posts. I got a phone call from CARE the other day saying that they have someone who will match donations for the Burma cyclone disaster so whatever you give will be doubled. According to the caller, CARE already had people on the ground in Burma when the cyclone hit and could get relief aid up and running immediately.

Thank you for reminding me: my quarterly donation to my local food bank is overdue.

Using the stimulus money for charity is an excellent, excellent suggestion.
