Kamenashi Kazuya
As our bodies separates, I open my eyes and look at him. His forehead is sweaty from our heat. He looks at me and flashes a smile. He closes the gap between us and gives me a kiss. I smile back. It was a fake smile. Everything is a lie.
He whispers, “I love you,” while holding my hand. He’s looking at me and I know he’s waiting for my reply.
I just smiles back. I could spend an intimate moment with him but I could never lie to him. I asked myself several times if I loved him, but the answer remains the same. I did not. I never did.
He lies on the bed and close his eyes while I sat beside him holding the blanket that is covering me. I remain silent.
“You really love Yamapi, don’t you?” He asks. It’s a rhetorical question. I never promised him anything.
“Are you going to his stag party tonight?” I asked.
“I should be there, he’ll be expecting me.” His voice fading with every word, I could sense a lump in his throat.
“Of course, you’re his best friend.” There was a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
I lay beside Jin and placed my head on his chest. He slowly combs my hair with his fingers. Although I wanted to cry, tears won’t escape my eyes. The man I loved the most is getting married in a few days and here I am sleeping with his best friend.
It was all a part of my stupid plan.
I wanted to hurt Yamapi. I wanted to make him feel what I felt when he decided to end our affair to be with his fiancé. He said he loved me dearly but it’s not enough to stand by my side and fight for me. He left me all alone.
In my pain I found my vengeance, a friendship tested and proven with time - a friendship I could destroy with my charms.
Tonight, my timing is perfect. I am pretty sure that Yamapi is on his way after I send that text message. After a few minutes, the door flew open. I did not move. I am expecting this. They were both caught in surprise. Yamapi stands there; jaw tightens as he saw his best friend Jin and the man he loved so dearly naked with each other.
I was the one who showed Yamapi what love is all about. The same man he left crying when he decided to follow his family and marry the woman they chose for him.
I saw pain and anger in his eyes. Yamapi closes his eyes as he turns his back on us, slamming the door so hard I thought it would break. The naked man beside me was stunned. I, in turn, was engrossed in my own thoughts.
My vengeance is complete. I ruined a very important part of his life. I should be happy, but I only felt numb.
