“Itekimasu!” Kazuya said before he walks out of the house.
It’s a bright Monday morning and for people who knew Kazuya well enough, they’ll know that he is most cheerful every Monday. Kazuya believes that starting the week with all smiles and a positive mood makes the whole week nice.
Kazuya walks towards the bus stop without any hurry while greeting everyone he knew along the way. It’s always been a habit of his to greet them a good morning.
Several blocks away from his house, he stops in front of a mansion, looking for a particular person. His eyes lit up when he saw her.
“Ohayou gozaimasu, Nana Obaa - san!” Kazuya greeted the old lady watering the garden. It has always been part of his daily routine to greet the kind old lady.
“Ohayou Kazuya - kun,” the kind lady greets him back.
Kazuya met her several years ago, when he and his family first transferred in that area. He is much younger back then and he goes to his school riding his bike. When he passes this huge mansion, he would always see the lady watering her plants. It is very well known in their area how rich the old lady is. So Kazuya always wondered why she bothers to water her garden when she has so many servants that can attend to that. He never failed to see her water her plants.
One day, when he was passing by the mansion again, he greeted her good morning. The old lady smiles at him and returned his greetings. Since that morning, whenever he passes that by, he would never fail to greet her.
After some time, Nana Obaa - san, as she introduced herself became close to him. The old lady treated him like her own grandson. In his heart Kazuya was deeply touched. In return, Kazuya treated her like she was his grandmother.
All those years, Kazuya learned different things from her. Like Nana Obaa - san is living on her own except for her maids, since his beloved husband passed away a year before Kazuya moves in that place. The kind lady has a son but the man has a family of his own now and currently living on a foreign country due to their business.
Kazuya felt sad about that but when Nana Obaa - san noticed that, she simply told him that, it was her decision to stay in their country. His son wants her to live with him but she refused. Nana Obaa - san loves to stay in her mansion caring for her plants. Kazuya can’t help but smile at that. Despite her wealth, Nana Obaa - san is a simple person in her heart. Kazuya also learned that she has two grandchildren who used to visit her every summer. But when they’ve entered college, their visits became fewer until it turns to just phone calls.
Kazuya was once again saddened by the story. But Nana Obaa - san told him that it was fine. She said that as long as she knows that they love her, even if they were not together, everything would be all right. Maybe he’s too young to really understand. So Kazuya visits her every opportunity that he has so that he can somehow make the kind lady happy.
Kazuya approached the grilled fence. He can see that Nana Obaa - san is really happy right now.
“Obaa - san, you seems more happy today.” Kazuya said smiling at the old woman inside the gate.
“Oh, you’re probably right Kazuya - kun. My grandchildren will be staying with me from now on. They’ve arrived two days ago.” Nana Obaa - san said happily.
Kazuya’s smile widens.
“Then I’m happy for you Obaa - san. I know you missed them a lot.”
The old lady smiles more before she nods. “Have dinner with us later Kazuya - kun. I’ll introduce you to them. I’m sure they’ll like you.”
“Will that be alright Obaa - san? I mean I’m sure you guys missed each other a lot. You can introduce me later to them Obaa - san, if you really want.” Kazuya said. He doesn’t want to interrupt the sweet reunion.
“No, it’s fine Kazuya - kun. You know that I treat you like my own grandchild too, don’t you? It’ll make me very happy if you meet my grandchildren.”
Kazuya smiles. He’s touch by what the old lady said.
“Then I’ll surely come later Obaa - san.” Kazuya said before he prepares to leave. “I’ll be going now Obaa - san.” He added before he waves his hand.
“I’ll be expecting you later then Kazuya - kun. Take care.”
“Hai, itekimasu.” Kazuya said before he made his way towards the bus stop, thinking of the upcoming dinner.
The old lady is surely nice to him but he’s thinking about her grandchildren whom he haven’t met nor seen yet. He doesn’t even know their names! How will they react to him?
Kazuya’s still thinking when he passed by the train station. He now remembers what happened 2 weeks ago. He sighs.
He tried to find the man who saved him twice, the last two weeks but he couldn’t find him. He even rode the train many times in hope of finding him but he failed. Kazuya sighs again.
Without anything else to do, he finally gives up and decided to move on with his life. Though he really wanted to meet the man and thanked him, it seems that fate is not favoring him.
Kazuya sighs. ‘Fate? Heck! What am I thinking?!’ Just then Kazuya finally reaches the bus stop. It was crowded as usual due to different students and office workers waiting for the bus.
Kazuya patiently waits for the bus and when it arrives and stops, people starts to ride it one by one. He noticed that he will not be able to ride that bus but he just shrugs his shoulders. It’s still early so waiting for another bus won’t be a problem.
He’s looking at the bus’ entrance when he saw a familiar man waiting for his turn to climb the bus. The man’s built is too familiar to him but Kazuya can’t remember who it was.
The guy rides the crowded bus and Kazuya can’t believe his eyes when he saw whom it was. ‘That man!’ Kazuya gasps.
The guy looks at his direction before the door closes. He saw recognition in those eyes and Kazuya knew that the guy remembers him. The guys waves at him before the bus speeds away.

Kazuya can’t count how many times he already sighs since that morning, after the bus where Stranger - san (since he doesn’t know the name of the guy who saved him) left with Kazuya doing nothing except sigh.
‘Stupid Kazuya!’ He thought to himself. ‘But what would I do? Run after the bus?’ Kazuya mocks himself.
“Earth to Kamenashi Kazuya! Do you hear me?”
“Huh?” Kazuya’s thoughts were interrupted.
“Kame!”
“What?” Kazuya said before looking at his best friend, Tanaka Koki, who’s standing at the front door of their lecture room.
“Finally!” The man said with exasperation.
“What are you doing at the front door, Koki?”
“We,” Koki said emphasizing the word before he continues, “are standing at the front door, Kame. You’ve been standing there in like what… forever?” he added exaggeratedly.
Kazuya blush a little before he rolls his eyes. He was so lost with his thoughts that he didn’t realize that he’s been standing and spacing out in the front door. Kazuya hurriedly goes to his seat, Koki following him.
“What happened to you?” Koki said when they are both seated.
“Nothing.” Kazuya said not looking at his friend.
“Hmm…” Koki said looking at Kazuya intently.
He knew Kazuya since they were in preschool. They both know each other so well that they were practically brothers. They know each other’s secrets and weaknesses. So Koki knows that in this very moment, there is something that Kazuya’s hiding from him. There is something different from his baby Kazuya.
Baby, since he always protected Kazuya ever since like a big brother the latter never had. Koki always treated the pretty like his own brother and he’ll continue that as long as Kazuya needs him.
Koki looks deeply into Kazuya’s eyes and Kazuya can’t help but blush.
“You’re in love!” Koki blurted out all of a sudden.
Kazuya’s face instantly goes red and it turns redder when he noticed that every one of his classmates stops and turns their full attention on him. Some wearing shock faces, some disappointment but most is curiosity.
Why not? When he, Kamenashi Kazuya, the guy who turned down every girl or sometimes guys to date him, is in love? That would be news.
“Koki!” Kazuya shrieked. “I am not!” He added in a subdued voice.
“Yes, you are!”
“No, I am not! Where do you get that idea from?”
Koki grins before speaking in a low voice, “ Yes, you are Kame - chan!”
“I’m not, Koki!” Kazuya said still bushing red. “Shut up already!” He can feel the stares from his classmates.
Koki pokes Kazuya’s red cheek, “So, who was it?”
Before Kazuya could answer Koki’s questions, the door of the lecture room opens before Nishikido - sensei enters the room followed by a man whom Kazuya didn’t expect to see. All of his classmates go back to their respected seats.
Kazuya’s eyes widen before his heart starts beating faster.
Nishikido - sensei stood in front of the teacher’s desk before motioning the man to stand besides him.
“Ohayou gozaimasu,” The sensei greeted them.
Kazuya can’t tell if he answers his teacher’s greetings. He can’t even hear the simultaneous whisperings inside the lecture room. All he notices is the man standing beside his sensei’s desk, looking at him with interest.
“Minna, starting today, Akanishi - sensei will observe us during class.” Nishikido - sensei informed them.
Akanishi - sensei bows his head before he looks back at Kazuya, whose heart seems to stop.
