After skating from my apartment to Tritone last night and not falling at all, I rolled right in the door and promptly fell on my ass in front of all the people. At least I got there early and not many folks were there to laugh and point yet ( Read more... )

definitely get skates for street skating. if you use your indoor ones outside, the wheels will get all nasty and stuff and it wont be as smooth a ride when youre on the rink.

i have outdoor speed skates with soft bouncy wheels but it's just that with all the wheel surface area on quad skates, there's more ways for you to trip over junk when on skates. rocks, sticks, chunks of glass, floating plastic bags, hunks of metal that have fallen off cars, all potential obstacles ... with inline skates, the wheels are all in a line so there are less things to snag ya. make ya fall, etc.

on the other hand, if i get really good at skating on shitty pavement with trash strewn around, i will be a better skater in general...

honey I still have scares on my knees from all of our famouse skateing
in the old hood remember skating down Green lane hill?? ohh the pain!!!!
and remember we always wore out our stoppers on our skates so much that we had holes in the front of our skates!!! Those where the days..
Hey do you know when the bike race is this year I hope it is when I come up and I will be there for two weeks...YEHH HAAAA
