Ok, So there I was. Sitting in front of the TV screen when on the TV came an add for a new movie. Well the first few trailers seemed to be shitty and I thought eh, maybe when it comes out on dvd we will rent it. NOW I come to find out that the movie is ANTI RELIGION. Just because the author, Phillip Pullman, hates Cronicles of Narnia and C.S Lewis ( Read more... )

Ehhh come back off of it a bit. Last year we had Narnia and it's overly Christian overtones, so I think it's fine that there's a counter release to it if you want to look at it that way.

For the same reason you're turning away from Compass, I would turn away for Narnia because of how the church used it as promotional material for their religion.

That said, I don't hold anything against Narnia, just haven't had the chance to see it yet despite the talking wolves

Before you go thinking I am saying that I am 100000000000000000% against it. I am only saying that if they KILL 'God' then Yes, I am against it. HOWEVER, Narnia doesn't kill anyone and at first watching it, I had NO clue about the religious tones to it. I dont watch movies for that specific. IF that was the case I would NEVER watch thrillers and horrors. I just wont give them my money to see it in the box office. I will wait and get reviews from those who DO watch it before I make a final decision. But the theaters are NOT getting my money! (that and this would be the FIST time I have gone to a theater in *thinks* 5 years. So I want to make it a movie that I wont want to get up and leave in the middle or end.)
