Sick. A very chesty cold. Been having trouble sleeping and its lasted five days. Tempted to go see a doctor tomorrow if it keeps up.

Visited Queenstown, saw my mum.

Property pimping prgrammes on TV drive me nuts, especially watching one filed pre-2007. Bet they never do followup interviews with people who lost all their equity in Spain.

I'll be in Christchurch from Dec 27 to Jan 2. I'm looking for crash space, or a room I can rent for a few days, as I suspect the remaining motels are a tad more expensive than they were last year.

I'm thinking about experimenting with a gluten free diet for a month or so. Anyone know any useful resources for this?

I went to Spring War and it rained. Too much mud for war fighting on Sunday. What I learned from the war scenarios on Saturday was that requiring most (but not all) of the fighters to kneel makes life pretty much not-fun for the kneelers. After a long interval (5 years?) I have resubbed to the Medieval Military History society. I also ordered a bunch of back issues of their journal. Once I get done reading them, I'll try posting some short reviews/summaries of the articles. Hopefully, I will find the germ of an idea for future research among them.

I got to Pennsic on the Friday. My luggage made it there on the Saturday. I was fairly relaxed about that, as in the worst case scenario, everything was replaceable at Pennsic. American Airlines were pretty good though, and offered me a $100 voucher for any essentials I needed while waiting for my luggage ( Read more... )
