That's where a jet crashed into the building, the runway is on the left. The glage in the road is where the jet hit a car across the highway. It severed the front of the roof,Belive it or not,no fatalities[whew]The plane [for some reason]couldin't take off and instead of lifting off it skidded off the runway, though a field across a busy highway before crahing though a brick warehouse wall. All the passenger and the pilot walked out[some stumbled]but only a broken leg for the pilot. The two in the car,well......that's still to be said, but they are alive
oh not good we had a crash here a few years ago when a passenger boeing 737 flight failed to take off and crashed into the M1 (our busiest motorway) only happened about two miles from where I live, thing is on a motorway the average speed is 80mph so i suppose there was little people could do.
On average, yes I agree. But this airport is in a residental area, and the building behind it[the curved roof]is a high school,7;30 in the morning,no roket scientist.I'm biaist though, sometimes they get a little too close for comfort. These shot were taken infront on my work, the high way.....I've stood at that light many times
Great pics! I watched the whole thing unfold on television that morning, but it looks like you basically had front row seats. I was wondering if anyone on LJ was around the area at the time and happened to snap a few pictures. Guess you did!
Anyway, if your still looking for new friends to add, drop by my journal. I hope you don't mind if I add you.
