Christmas at Karlštejn Castle

I would very much like to share these photos from our iconic Castle from 14th century. Roman Emperor and Czech King Charles IV had this castle built as a stronghold protecting Czech Royal Jewellery. The castle was never defeated. It contains the most beautiful Gothic Art and a replica of the Crown. I tried to get an independent link but finally had

That is beautiful, just the sort of castle that I love. The wall paintings in the chapel!!! The royal portraits and jewels.

And there was gingerbread biscuits like the ones you bake?

I am so glad you liked it! The castle is our national treasure,
And yesm these are actually honeybreads and the same I make, most of the pastry and cakes are Czech traditional ones and are made more or less the same way in almost every family.

This is beautiful. I like their decoration is not too showy, most of them are very natural and seem to be very chic.
