Blowing and blowing

The third windstorm in Europe in a row. I think that enough is enough. However until that Arctic jet stream settles, we will have to live with it. It has caused lots of problems, even deaths, and big damage.
The roof of my house has survived so far and I hope it will stay like that.
And again, I hope all who are affected will stay safe!

I have looked for the references and now I know. the concept of an equinox is well known to me but I have never heard of connecting it with windy weather. At least not here - we are in Central Europe and we don not have any sea or ocean nearby which must influence it, or I think so.

We've had some wind and it seems to be raining pretty steadily this morning (still dark so I can't be sure). But nothing serious, thank goodness.
