I'm sad

Lamarck died today. He was more badly injured than we first thought, and he fought so hard to live but he just gave up today. I'd like to say I took it in stride but I'm actually pretty saddened by this. I feel like I let him down-- that I prolonged his suffering by trying to keep him alive. And I want to thank tnova3 for being there for us to do

Anytime baby. I kow that it was a hard decision but you took a chance and he knew someone cared about him. Animals trust us to make the right choice for them and it is not a easy choice to let thm go. Just know he is no longer in pain . I know you will be a good mommy to Newton.

On the other hand I now have to learn make kolaches. I am thinking cream cheese and strawberry.

From the way he was acting, I think Lamarck knew he was dying; he just didn't want to be left alone (he'd get really squirrelly when he wasn't actually touching either Newton or one of us). Which kind of makes sense, I guess.

It's looking like Newton may be a grackle. And a girl. But his/her feathers haven't come all the way in yet, so it's still up in the air (no pun intended).

Cream cheese and strawberry? Sounds like a winner. And if stringy_cow is ever in town again, you two will have to swap baking tricks and such (she's studying to be a chef, and she's already awesome).

I think it's wonderful that you both take in the baby birds! I wish they both would have stayed alive. But there is still newton! So hopefully, in the future, he can sing you songs as a mockingbird (if he is)!

i'm really sorry about your bird ;o; we took in baby birds when i was younger but they ended up dying without their mother but we did all we could and i'm sure you did too! <3 he'll be happy he had someone to care about him~
