You should see it today, I should post a picture. It is rare for people to get them out here. Her neck looks awful. :( Pray for her that it doesn't get worse!
oh oh oh !!!!!!! that is so scary to me, they are so large and I can't tell if the yellowish bubbly part on the second picture is healing or spreading I am so sorry, I really hope she heals soon
Yikes!!! Thank goodness for antibiotics!! i too thought it looked a little nasty the other day just for regular 'ol spider bites. Good thing you headed to the doctors! It's not surprising her lymph node is so swollen it is probably taking a direct hit from the infection and in return is doing it's job.
Did you let her friends parents know that they have brown recluses in their house???? geesh!
Vicki! Once again I haven't logged in for months and then I see this...oh poor you, and poor her. Just to say--I did get bitten one summer, let's see, it must have been 1994. And I didn't know what it was, I thought it was poison ivy or something...man, I was dumb, and lucky. It was on the back of my, um, let's say, right thigh. The worst part was the ITCHING.
The thing I wanted to mention was that it did heal and I didn't lose, like, any body parts or anything, but my lymph nodes were swollen on that side of my groin? For, like, at LEAST a year. Hopefully in her case your getting the antibiotics etc. will help prevent that. But just to know, I think the effects of the poison can linger in your system even once the visible bite has healed. :o(
Thank you, it's always such a nice surprise when I see you on the boards again! I hope you are well, and thanks for the info. She is doing much better right now, and I'm hoping there won't be any scarring, we'll have to see. :)
