Leeteuk let out a strangled cry as he searched furiously. Eyebrows furrowed, eyes frantic and hands sweating, he poured the contents of his bag onto the ground outside his apartment.

“No, this can’t be happening…. Oh, God, please, no, no……..”

Leeteuk checked, rechecked, and checked again. Dazed, the knelt there and let the truth sink in. The next thing he did was grab his cellphone and set it on speed dial.

Someone picked up. “Hello?”

A loud wail blasted through the receiver, starling Siwon who fell out of his chair. “SIWON-AHHH!”

“Teukie-hyung! Did something happen?!”

“My-my-“ Leeteuk managed to utter through his gasps of breath, “keys-gone!!”

For a moment there was silence. Then Leeteuk heard a sigh followed by a chuckle. “Oh, thank goodness, I thought something life threatening happened.”

“This IS life threatening!!”

“…………There’s no need to freak out over something like this, hyung.”

“This is TERRIBLE, Siwon! What if someone breaks in? What if I can’t feed my dog tonight? What if I can’t finish my document due tomorrow that is saved in my computer?” Leeteuk sputtered all in one breath.

Another sigh. “Look what work has done to you, hyung. Why don’t you just calm down, and I’ll be there in a sec, alright?”

When Siwon arrived at Leeteuk’s floor, he stepped out of the elevator to see the older man sitting on the ground, frowning while scribbling away at a pile of paper. Siwon let out an exasperated groan and snatched his pen away.

“Hey!” Leeteuk cried indignantly, looking up, face clearly annoyed, but softened when he realized it was Siwon. “Oh, Siwon!” He jumped up and hugged the taller man happily. “What?” Leeteuk asked when he became aware of Siwon’s upset face.

“You shouldn’t be overworking yourself, hyung.”

“I’m not. I’m-WOAHHH” Leeteuk yelped when he was pulled into the elevator by one swift tug. Siwon pressed the buttons and ignored the other’s complaints of “my paperwork!” and “what about my things?!!”

The door opened and Siwon grabbed Leeteuk’s wrist firmly and forced him into his car. Siwon slammed the door shut and left Leeteuk pounding on the windows helplessly before walking to the left seat and starting the car.

“What are you doing? Where are you taking me to??” Leeteuk cried, staring at Siwon in bewilderment.

Siwon stayed silent and continued driving until they reached a lake. Soft wind rustled the leaves on the trees and the silvery moonlight reflected on the water. Couples walked, hand in hand, along the shore on a wooden deck, enjoying the scenery. Leeteuk was still whining when Siwon pulled him out of the car, grabbing his hand and dragging him to the metal railing of the platform. Leeteuk stopped protesting at mid-sentence to marvel at the breathtaking sight before him. He held Siwon’s hand tightly, warmth encasing his own.

The two of them stood there quietly, simultaneous smiles on their faces until they were interrupted by the loud grumbling of Leeteuk’s stomach. He jumped in surprise and peeked timidly at Siwon in embarrassment. Siwon grinned down at him and once again, pulled him down the street. Bright lights came into view and the sound of chatter grew loud in their ears. They arrived at a night market, the smell of food enticing them.

“Wahh! Tteokbokki!!” Leeteuk squealed and ran to one of the street vendors. Chuckling, Siwon followed him, preparing his wallet to pay for the food. He couldn’t help smiling when he saw Leeteuk holding his favorite treat, eyes shining in happiness.

“You want one?” Leeteuk offered sweetly, but Siwon shook his head.

“No it’s okay, you eat it, I just had dinner.”

Disregarding Siwon’s refusal, Leeteuk waved a piece of rice cake in his face. “Say ahh.”

Siwon sighed and reluctantly let Leeteuk feed him, who clapped his hands in glee and skipped off to visit other vendors. Siwon watched happily, chewing his rice cake, as Leeteuk wandered around, sometimes tugging Siwon’s sleeve to show him something interesting or ask him to pay for more food.

Soon, Leeteuk’s energy drained out of his body and his steps slowed down. Rubbing his hands together, he snuggled up against Siwon for warmth and yawned sleepily. Siwon knew it was time to take him home.

They went back into the car, and Leeteuk curled up in his seat while Siwon started on the road back.

“Thanks, Siwon-ah, for everything.”

“No problem, hyung. Did you have fun?”

“Mhm.” Came a muffled answer to his right.

Siwon smiled, happy to know that Leeteuk was relaxed and had forgotten about work. After all, he had taken him out on purpose to give him an enjoyable night without any worries. It was a long time since he saw Leeteuk so happy and carefree. He parked his car outside his apartment and glanced at the man beside him, who was already asleep.

Siwon couldn’t help but stare. Leeteuk was beautiful, his skin basking under the moonlight with hair falling over his eyes and his body rising up and down with his soft snores. Siwon carried him up gently, afraid to wake him up, and took him into his apartment and into his bed. Tucking in the other’s sleeping form with a blanket, Siwon couldn’t resist himself and placed a soft kiss on Leeteuk’s forehead.

After tiptoeing out of the room to sleep on the coach, he opened Leeteuk’s bag carefully and dropped something in with a clink. He felt pretty proud of himself. But he hoped that Leeteuk wouldn’t be mad at him the next morning if he knew it was Siwon who stole the keys to his apartment.
