Vicki, I swear that nobody captures the real essence of these two cowboys like you do. Every detail of your story is in perfect harmony with every other, and it all hangs together like a jigsaw puzzle put together just right. Ennis' suspicions and his fears that keep him from being able to accept some outside help, and Jack's ability to believe and trust in spite of what the world has done to him - both are so characteristic of the original characters that it is no stretch at all for me to believe that you have tapped into Annie P's spirit and written them exactly as she would have, had she been willing to explore different possibilities. And I love the whole 'whore with the good heart' scenario, and the idea of Jack stepping forward to DO things in the face of injustice while Ennis realizes that he probably wouldn't have.
I'm so glad they're back together again. This arrangement for them to get together seems workable too. Hopefully it will remain a secret. I just love this story!!
They are back together, well, at least within a couple hours of each other, and things will be workable, but the plan won't be perfect. I mean, it's not like they can just stay in bed for most of every weekend. *grin*
Really good chapter... so nice that they are finally together again, and I love that they are relying on sensible, heart-of-gold sex workers to make it happen! People regarded as outcasts need to stick together, as Ennis is hopefully realizing. I also love how he reflects that Jack is the one who's been leading the way, and that he's better off for following him. Looking forward to seeing what they get into next, :-) Lisa
Thanks for mentioning the outcasts need to stick together, part. That is so true. Only someone who has endured bigotry can truly understand what it means to be on the receiving end. Ennis is taking steps he hasn't really realized. He sees Jack as the strong one, when Ennis has proven more than once how strong he can be when he refuses to let his fears get in the way.
wow. wow! that was nice. I am so happy that Ennis came to his senses. wow. And they are going to be together every single week!! Yeee haw!! Thnak you V for this wonderful story, sorry I can't leave deep comments like everyone else manages to. I just don't have it in me. But I sure do look forward to your story and I like it a whole lot! Thanks very much!

Well done, my dear. This part 6 is so rewarding to all of your longtime readers. Thank you!! There is so much that I loved about this chapter. First, let me commend you on your pacing of this entire story, but of "All Shook Up" in particular. The build-up to them finally being together and the work you did with Ennis coming to terms (as much as he can) with his true feelings was superb. You patiently took us through Ennis' realization about his own self worth and acceptance of his love for Jack. Then, you had Ennis make the decision that we were all hoping he would make - to go to Alaska. **Sigh** Finally, you had a special place for our guys to get together around people who will protect them. Ennis, please get it in your head that you gotta take a chance and trust someone sometime. Their reunion was so sweet. I am reading this chapter over and over. (You do realize that you are going to have to write this series forever.) I look forward to whatever you have planned next. And Jack, you do need to go camping with Ennis

I'm glad you liked Ennis' decision, and the changes he had to make to be able to step out like he's done. I'm a military brat, so moving away from family is no big deal to me -- you did it because that's the way things are. Now that I'm stationary, I find it interesting the number of people who have told me they could never move away from their parents, and how many do, but return within a short time swearing they couldn't stand it. Leaving Wyoming, leaving ranch work, leaving friends he had only recently come to accept he could have -- all of that took a lot of courage, but Ennis doesn't see that in himself. Maybe he never will, but it is there, whether he sees it or not. I'm glad you liked the reunion. Jack was a little hampered by the surroundings, but once he was in safe territory, he gave Ennis a welcome that he deserved. *grin* LOL Write this forever...it seems that way already, but I do have an ending in mind. And don't worry...they guys can't stay in bed all the time they can get together for nearly 2 yrs. :-)
