Yeah, this has kinda surprised me that its gotten this far :) But I like that of course! But yeah, make sure that they don't screw us on licensing.
as for building our own engine... well, lets just say that we don’t have the manpower, time, nor money to do so, especially when there are several high quality options available for off the shelf purchase. If only the high quality options weren’t in the insane level of the pricing gradient].
I'd definitely consider writing an engine for you, or modifying Ghostwind's engine, though that'll have to wait until Ghostwind is done. Uber major work progressing on that.
If we can't come up with a viable engine alternative, we'll be liscensing the Unreal Runtime within the next 5 weeks. Somehow I doupt we can have an alternative [thats not ready off the shelf] made in this time, and to make something that matches all the important features of something like Unreal... oiy. You're an Uber programmer, but I think even that might be a bit overboard :P
