Those of you on my flist that aren’t in Adam fandom, feel free to skip.

Those that just want to hear me rant, come on in.

Yup, this.

I really don't get the people who tweet them constantly, especially when they're passing judgement about how they live their lives. If you don't know them, you don't really know, so calm down.

I generally don't care about celebrity SO's and find shipping real people creepy enough (still do it, though) that I can't go for the real couple shipping. I can't imagine telling the actual people about it. Let me have my fun, harmless fantasy safely behind the 4th wall.

It's sad that people take any fandom that seriously, though. Points to other areas seriously lacking.

I've tweeted at the guys before, and I don't have an issue with that. I do have issue with tweeting them about their personal business. That's crossing a line. Asking for pics is one thing, asking something like "So Adam, exactly how big is your dick?" is so way out of line.

Hey, and you're my favorite bitch, too, darlin'. ;)

Fandom (of any flavor) never ceases to amaze and amuse me.

**hugs you tight**

And I know you saw wank in LOTR. I missed that part, because I stuck to the fic. What this is, really, is groupie-ism. The fact that no one has caught on to that fact boggles my brain. Sigh.

HOBBIT NEXT YEAR, YES!?!?

while i agree with a lot of this, i think the problem was here:
I learned a long time ago that your real friends are the ones that stick by you till the end, that you can say anything to, even disagree with vehemently, and they’re still there.

r_b is a locked comm. people felt a sense a community there at one time. seeing another member laugh publicly at them was bound to hurt feelings, especially if the person laughing hadn't come to the person being laughed at first.

i haven't been there in quite a while either, but i think you should have pm'd, dm'd or whatever m'd them before you publicly laughed at them.

and i really don't want to come off as preachy or self-righteous. i seem to have a knack for that tho. i just thought maybe you really wanted to know why people would get upset over it.

Why would I dm or pm someone when I was responding to a tweet by someone else? And really, as I said, I did not and have not c/p anything. So singling me out for something that I didn't do, merely laughed at, which I've done LOTS of times in LOTS of places, was bullshit.

I know that r_b is locked. And again, since I didn't c/p, maybe they should do another witch hunt to find the culprit. Or, you know, take a deep breath and a good, hard look. At least I'm doing my shit in public.

but it still seems like it would have been best to seek that person that the tweet was about out and talk to them directly. otherwise, it's like a cliquey high school group laughing behind someone's back. (i'm so damn glad i didn't go to a public high school) especially when it's someone who felt at least somewhat accepted by you in the past.

tbh, that would feel like betrayal to the person being laughed at, and would only make them more defensive in their position.

i have no idea about the c/p thing. i know it's been going on ever since tll started because people felt excluded by locked comms. i think the best thing about a locked comm is that they provide some protection to the fourth wall - unless what's said there is posted in an open comm.

as i said before, tho, i just wanted to let you know why i think it pissed the people involved off.

I get what you're saying. The thing is, I was unaware of the unfollow/banned thing until I went to look for something. They didn't say anything to me, should they have dm'd me to say why? Two way street, imo.

The person/people that felt 'betrayed' knows my thoughts on this. Or should, as I've made no secret how I felt about things being said. It's like a bad episode of Desperate Housewives or something. People who have known me for a long time know that I say what I think, no holds barred. I'm too old to start biting my tongue.

Regarding that fourth wall...don't you think that people tweeting/tumblr responding to celebs with batshit insanity helped destroy that wall? I do.

I really enjoy not being in fandom and just watching from the grandstands.

I seriously do not get why people don't get that 'ships are fictional. Even if there's some bit of (or lots of) reality to the closeted love, in the way they enter the fan's life, they're fictional.

I don't think there really are all that many crackpots out there - I think that some fans either 1) enter some weird form of group consciousness as a way of attaching/defining themselves within a social group and 2) 20% of the morons are socks of actual morons.

*dyin*

THIS, THIS IS WHY I LOVE YOU!!!

Remember the B/J vs B/M wank years ago? And how everyone got all bent about that? Some things never change. But yeah, I totally agree about the weird group think thing.
