1) Zumba class. Went to it last night. I had expected something latin and dancey and fun. Instead I got a lot of jumping around and shouting in Spanglish. For the first time since Chaz came into my life, I am wearing girly shoes. Not sneakers, not Docs, not snowboots, but a pair of ballet-style flats.

So far, Chaz has been only quietly complaining. I'm keeping on the slow side, though, just in case.

Might I have reached a breakthrough in my healing process? We'll see.

Can't find a video online; so I direct you to the NPR story featuring Jonatha Brooke and the making of "The Works", an album featuring her own music with previously unpublished lyrics from Woody Guthrie.  This album was quite possibly one of my favorites in the past year or so. In the past few weeks, I have done the following:

1) Sewn five dresses, five hats, and two vests from scratch  - and learned how to use the button hole feature on my (sorta new) sewing machine in the process.

2) Built a cart out of a prefab TV stand, a plastic towel holder, and more of the same fabric as the above costumes.
