Help our sad VM-less friends in Australia

Mar 06, 2006 01:10

If you haven't already, there's a poll you can vote in about whether you're disappointed that they stopped airing Veronica Mars in Australia (after episode 11, I believe). You don't have to be Australian to think that's a lame thing to do, and it would be a shame if the results of the poll were that most people didn't care.

The poll is here.

thanks for posting this! (also, unless my computer is just being weird, you might want to note that the vote button doesn't show up in Firefox--I had to open it in IE to actually vote)

I was surfing the net and I came across your post about Veronica Mars. In case you haven't heard, MarsInvestigations.net started a $4,000 Shower, Season 3 postcard campaign. Considering the low ratings for the past few episodes, this show needs all the support it can get.

If you're one of those fans who think VM's renewal is guaranteed, then you should read our "Season Three - No Guarantee" page.

*grin* We've been pimping the $4000 Shower postcard campaign for some time now, actually.

And we have plans to link to the S3-No Guarantee page Wednesday, when we post our big push for campaigns in the final week before the new episode.

We think the stuff you guys are doing is awesome and we're happy to support you any way we can.

I'm positive, by the way, that the best way to get publicity for the $4000 Shower campaign is to get one of the big TV columnists (Kristin Veitch, Mike Ausiello, Matt Rousch) to mention it. Apparently when Kristin mentioned one particular Save VM petition a while ago, it got about 10,000 signatures in one week. But when I tried to get a ton of people to send in questions involving $4000 Shower, it was a flop (not too uncommon in this community for campaigns that require more than clicking a button or two). Anyway, just thought I'd let you in on my hunch that that's the way to go, even though I don't really know how to best act on it.

An update, apparently in the magazine version of the TV Week where the poll is hosted (it's our equivalent of your TV Guide magazine) someone specifically wrote in about the issue and word is Ten plans to show the rest of the season... sometime this year. And it was only ever part of the 'summer schedule'.
