Mac's situation was really heartbreaking and just so ordinary...it's what so many people are going through right now, and it made the story feel very real, almost as if it was happening right now in 2010. All of Mac's sacrifices made me feel sad.
And the key thing was great...very Christmas-y. I wasn't familiar with White Elephant, but it worked well in the story (and I understood it from context).
Happy New Year.

I know that in the show Mac found ways to break out of her ordinariness with her hi-tech schemes. But I'd like to think that an older and wiser Mac might have been burned a few times and is just trying to make ends meet the old fashioned way.
The story in my mind is set during their senior year and it's 2009. I'm glad it reads as relevant to our current economical crisis.
Phew! Glad White Elephant didn't confuse you!
Thanks for the great review!

"We're just...two people headed in the same direction." I am very glad that direction happened to be towards each other.
"Come on, you know I do girl talk better than Veronica." Oh, Logan, so true, so true. Especially liked your description of his "rakish" voice. *small swoon*
"Dick 2.0" Well worth the upgrade!
And the "breathless" ending? Just so perfect for this story.
And I can't forget badgery Veronica revealing her "marshmallow center." That was great too.
I hope you plan on doing more writing this year, because I'd very much like to read it. Thanks for sharing this one.

Oh yes!
This was my first time writing this pairing, but I'd love to do more in this fandom. I had a lot of fun! Thanks for reading!

Was.
Awesome.
Seriously, though, it was brilliant writing and the characterization was spot-on. It was exactly what I was looking for. (I heart angst.) I especially loved the last part and the talk with Logan, and him buying her car back was really sweet.
The music was really very good, despite it not being the style I usually listen to, and the feel of the songs fitted really well with what was happening in the story.
Thank you and Merry Christmas!

I'm sooooooooo glad you liked the angst. I noticed that you were listening to Joy Division when you posted your wishlist. I think it kind of inspired me.
Dick buying the car back was TOTALLY a shock to me too. I couldn't come up with an ending and then all of a sudden it just wrote itself. :D
Happy New Year!
