Today I went to Nana's funeral (Lee's grandmother). Except this wasn't a funeral. I've always heard the phrase "celebration of life", but before today, I'd never witnessed it. There was more laughter than tears, and I don't think a single person there actually felt bad for her--we just miss her. It was incredible ( Read more... )

This week has been quite odd, schedule-wise. Tuesday we had our first Target of the year, and it was down right awful. The manager in charge didn't plan the store at all and it turned into a disaster that myself and Cory, the other Nashville DM, got to fix. My hometown held a May Day festival every year. The streets were lined with vendors selling whatever they had to sell, games, crafts, and even a parade. My girl scout troop dressed up in period costumes--each girl taking a decade--and danced around a May Pole in front of the Regions Bank on Main Street ( Read more... )

I have a meeting in Birmingham tomorrow that will last all day. It's about 15 minutes from Granny's house, which is really hellish knowing I'm right there and can't see her. So, I asked my boss if I could help out the Birmingham office with anything on Friday. That way I could stay with Granny Thursday night and get to spend some time with her ( Read more... )
