i'm sure saying this is creepy is like hitting the obvious-horse with a really big stick, but i'm usually put off more than intrigued by stuff this creepy, and you've got me in both places right now. nicely done.

you are sending these gems around, right? when they're as finished as you mean for them to get? this sounds like it would fit right into the windlow/dalting horror/fantasy collections. and de lint answers his e-mail, if you're ever looking for a particular in into that circle.

Alright. Having met the Horse Trader before, I'm glad I never knew about Mary. Or, if I did, I blocked it out. "This current Mary" has to be one of the creepiest lines of subtle horror I've heard come from you.
