Customs, part 8

By the time I’d finished foisting the rest of the lhiannan sidhe paperwork off on SSF officers, the follow-up reports from the airport were ready, and my trail was cold. So, I stopped in at the Nameless Diner, had a bit of coffee, and filed through them ( Read more... )

"One of the problems with being in my line of work was that everything looked suspicious after the first few months. "

Good line. I rather like this (as I relate to it very well and can hear the slight dry humor behind it), although I find it somewhat hard to go from the slightly sarcastic nuance in it to the soft/concerned interchange between Akiko and Reed. (What a sentimental couple these two are. *pokes them severely*)

Anyways, while I continue to go off on a tangential line of thought, perhaps you'll indulge the reader by throwing in something sharp and pointy (whether it be dialogue or fangs) soon? I will have to go back and start from the beginning to see whether I still I feel this way after reading the pieces all at once, but it almost feels as if by now the world has been established fairly well and as if it's time to start throwing the bizarre or the scary elements at us.

On a technical note, have you considered tagging these entries?

#1: lemurling pointed me to your journal last night; this is Tyler, of La Familia infamy. You should add me! :D

#2: I can be forthcoming with more insight later, but for now let me say, on a broad level, that this piece is excellent, with a very subtle, shiver-inducing creep in its rhythm; when I'm not at work, I'll read through the sections in order and give you some more in-depth thoughts (unless you say "No god don't!", or some facsimile thereof).

Hey you, I'm Becky's roomie. She suggested I contact you because she said you are an excellent writer (as I can see) and may have some ideas for me. I am creating a collection of poetry and short stories and am hoping to be published. I'm wondering:
Is it true that if I mail my stuff to myself and sign the seal it is technically copyrighted? I am worried about it being posted without a copyright.
Also, do you have any suggestions about where to start as far as seeking publication? I have absolutely no ideas about how to get my foot in the door. Any input at all would be greatly appreciated.
Ms. Becky says she'll call you!
Thanks so much!

It is true on a technicality of law. If you want to worry about copyrights, I strongly, strongly suggest you actually get familiar with copyright law, and file your copyright officially.

You can get my email from your roomie; send a message to me, and I'll give you some more input on getting printed.
