In the wake of this week's anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, some photosets have been floating around Tumblr and getting more and more notes on them as they go. I really liked the notes on this one:
While we're acknowledging strong women, I read a friend's ebook of the newest Lord John (and...the plague of zombies, I think). It has the first chapter of Written in My Own Heart's Blood. :)
"You tell me exactly what happened, ye filthy wee pervert," Fraser whispered, his breath hot on Grey's face and smelling of ale. He shook Grey slightly. "Every word. Every motion. Everything."
Grey got just enough breath to answer.
"No," he said definitely. "Go ahead and kill me."
Ah man, the start of that book is going to be painful.
Hermione is, as willow_wand says, awesome. I couldn't imagine the HP tales without her.
I guess have a penchant for strong female characters: Hermione; Terry Pratchett's Tiffany Aching, Granny Weatherwax; Ken Follett's Ellen, Aliena (Pillars of the Earth) and Caris, Gwenda (World Without End); both leads in current (UK) TV series Scott & Bailey. I'm not sure what that says about me...
