My life is a Korean soap opera

My Dad's side of the family (Korean) are a bunch of wet cats trapped in a sack. I've lost count of all the rifts and silent treatments they've engaged in. Here are just a few:

At my GrandAunt's funeral her children returned the quilt her sister handmade for her when she was on her sickbed!
(I'm not kidding) They said to her face as they shoved the quilt at her: "Here! we don't want this!"

At another funeral (Grandpa's friend) my GrandUncle (through marriage) more or less demanded the locations of the secret family fishing spots that Grandpa's friend showed my dad and his cousin.

The same GrandUncle also insisted that his brother-in-law (my uncle through blood) give him the handmade fishing hooks (huge ones for marlin and tuna) that belonged to my Great Grandfather. And when he was refused, would not allow his wife (grand aunt) to speak to her siblings, becaue they are "Stingy and hard-hearted".

Then there's my Grandpa's funeral to worry about. We have to keep changing the pallbearers because "Soandso" doesn't want to stand across the coffin from "Whatshisname" because he didn't invite "Soandso" to his wedding and is offended by his presence. Then we have to figure out who we can actually invite to the funeral without causing a brawl or another rift. Certain people will have to sit in opposite corners of the room, and some will not be invited at all.

THEN there's my cousin's wedding to worry about. Her family and her fiance's family (Jehovah's Witness) are going to be in the same room together. Who knows what will happen!? X(

This is so not what we need right now. I wish they would all just shut up and stop trying to shove their own issues into the mix.

life sucks, real life, ranting
