so.. sarah and i have both wanted tattoos for awhile.. her first, my second. and i had said something about doing it tonight, and she said she didnt know if she'd feel up to it, cos we got pierced yesterday, and it was her tongue.. so ya know. but today she said she wanted to, so we went to Standard Ink downtown, and the rest is pretty much history

honestly? it didnt hurt that bad. everyone says this, i know.. but it didnt hurt as bad as my first one at all.. mainly because its a little ways away from the bone.. the closer to the bone, the worse it hurts. getting any tattoo, for me anyway, has always felt like i've had a REALLY REALLY bad sunburn, and someone is taking a ball point pen and scribbling all over my body. thats honestly the best description i can give.

when people ask me i say that towards the beginning it's a cat scratch; it stings like a catscratch, and towards the end, the friction causes that sunburn feeling, so going over lines that have already become tender feels like a catscratch on top of a sunburn. i mean, everybody handles pain differently; tattoos don't even hurt me anymore. in fact, the last one i got, on my sternum, i actually fell asleep during, when i had heard that that was one of the most painful places to be tattooed on the entire body.

it's really unfair when people ask things like 'how much did it hurt?' because there's no correct answer. to me, a tattoo feels like a tattoo. there are easy lines and there are hard lines; the location depends on how many harder lines there are, but overall, it's the same feeling.

i've had tattoos since i was 15, and i got my first piercing when i was 16 :-/ everybody goes and gets tattoos when they turn 18, i've already gone through all of that!

i love all your tattoos. i just dont think i could ever be brave enough to get them in the spots you have them, lol. i usually dont handle pain that well. and sometimes i forget to breathe, which is a bad thing, but i did fairly well this time. i'm already looking into getting my third.

i'd never get a tattoo. i just think about what i would look like as an old lady, lol. but yours is really cute, i like it.
