i am thinking about getting a job. what places are hiring? im thinking about applying at express, hot topic, other clothing stores. but im afraid to go and them say they're not hiring.

Don't be afraid of that, even if they're not there's always other places. Plus usually even if they say they're not hiring they're usually accepting applications.

In fact, don't even ask. Just ask for an application.
They're going to read it whether or not they're hiring

A good way to find out if some place is or isn't hiring is to check online. And if they are hiring they usually have something posted in the window.
