How hard is it to get in to a music degree majoring in contemporary voice?

Hi,

This is probably an absurd question - feel free to delete it if it is in any way inappropriate, and if it is then I apologise - but I've started thinking about it lately and now I'm a little worried!

I was wondering if anyone knows what the general standard is for somehow who wants to study a music degree at university/college level majoring or ( Read more... )

You need to look for a school that offers contemporary voice as a major....I think Berklee might

the school I went to, most of the contemporary singers were also songwriters and played various instruments so instead of being a voice major they were 'musical arts program' .....that said, I wen't to a really weird school

Hey, thanks for the reply. That's actually really helpful; I play guitar (albeit badly!) so maybe I can look into what you've described, a more general music major. Thanks again; you've given me a different angle. :-)
