Cool! We loved the icon set and have been wanting to redesign our journals some. Jim & I have been working together on drawing a custom mood theme for ourselves and having a lot of fun with it, and really like the new icons from you guys. We'd been thinking that while we're changing things it would be neat to have a nicer journal layout too, with some kind of header image or something, but we don't know any CSS and we're not actually all that good at designing things with fonts or headers and so all attempts to make more interesting journal layouts/themes so far have pretty much been failures. I was actually angsting about this the other day, "Noes, I want a better journal layout but I can't make one, and trying to make one isn't being fun D:" We have a job and monies right now and you guys do awesome design work, so would be great to be able to commission you for journal layouts. Would you guys be up for doing 2 livejournal themes and a dreamwidth theme for us for $75 total?
Right, Dreamwidth layout is done. The preview is at my layout-testing Dreamwidth, and the necessary files (CSS code, installation instructions) are in this folder. It incorporates the vast majority of your favourite colours too! :3 The LJ ones should be finished by the end of the week, judging by how things are going right now. (Flexible Squares is easier to work with than Tabula Rasa, so that's a plus.) If you want any changes, I'll see how I can fix things up! ♥
Hello! I came over after seeing jimnightmare be all check out my epic new layout, and indeed it was epic.
I'm interested in commissioning something like a typographic poster that I would use as the cover illustration for a novella I'm writing; I'm tentatively planning on self-pubbing that novella when it's finished, so I don't know if that would effect pricing or what your terms regarding that would be.
Please let me know if you would be available for that comission, and if the pricing would need to be adjusted from the $10 estimate in your post. For specificity: what I'm thinking of is something sort of a bit classic, a bit vintage (the story's period is roughly 1910s or 1920s), with a border and the title of the story, as well as a simple image of a pear somewhere on it.
Other images that I think of as far as the general mood of it: -x -x
SWEET also $10-15 sounds a-okay! How would you like to do this? Should I just...continue describing the specifics of what I'd like in this comment thread? :O When would you like me to pay you via paypal? (I've heard the usual practice when comissioning art or graphics is to pay up front once the details have been ironed out)
You can mention it in PM if you like, and you're welcome to pay up front if you can. (We've been relatively flexible, accepting payment after completion for some projects, and accepting it beforehand as well. Larger projects are usually 'initial deposit + payment while project is ongoing'.) We'll PM you our Paypal address.
