Overheard when while getting a haircut today: Jingle Bell Rock into Kanye West's Gold Digger. I have no idea what radio station it was on.

As a side note, whenever I hear the Jingle Bell Rock my urge to kill rises.

I hate Christmas music. I think that's the worst part of working retail at the holidays. I'm trying to learn to tune it out, but Mannheim Steamroller still makes me want to throw things. And gosh darn it if a bookstore doesn't have lots of handy things to throw...

OK, I really don't envy you on that count. I came to the realization that there is exactly one xmas song I almost like, and that is Dominic the Donkey. And even that song I can stand listing to once a year before it stops being funny.

It makes me feel a little better that people who celebrate Christmas hate that sort of stuff just as much as me. This time of year really makes me feel like an outsider -- at least I have company being a malcontent ;-)
