like an (unwanted) rolling stone

Aug 12, 2008 09:22

So I started receiving Rolling Stone magazine recently and I have no idea why. It is not anything that I much of an urge to read, much less buy a subscription to. I was wondering if it was some kind of a random one off promotion when I got the first issue last month, but then another one showed up yesterday ( Read more... )

You could always donate them to a library if you aren't going to read them.

Somewhere on the address label should be a subscription end date.

There is no way to stop the madness. I subscribed years ago, then let the subsription lapse. I continued to receive it for a few years, even though I never paid the bill. Then it finally stopped... only to start up again about a year later (when I moved, oddly enough). I still get it now.

Basically if you've ever thought about the magazine, you will receive a subscription. You could try calling them to see if they'll stop... I skim through them for pictures of hot musicians, but there's pretty slim pickin's these days. :P

You should be able to unsubscribe here:

Good luck!
Fitness Magazine and Parents Magazine both pretty much refused to unsubscribe me!

Thanks for that link. That at least got me to my account info. Somehow I have a payed year subscription in my name. Not sure where it came from. I've got an email into customer service.

I came home to an issue sitting in my mailbox. I never subscribed, never authorized, rarely looked at an issue, so I Google'd my way here. Apparently I also have the mysterious 1-year paid subscription. Did you ever get yours sorted out?

It looks like my subscription came from ticketmaster as a promo. I don't recall seeing anything from them the last time I ordered tickets, nor did I get any email confirmations about it.

I asked RS customer service to unsubscribe me. I think that may have finally kicked in.

I think I got a Rolling Stone subscription from some promo at Best Buy. It went well over a year, I never paid for a renewal, but it did eventually stop.

I wonder if did eventually sign into a website to get it to stop.

Next up... stopping the damned phone books.
