If I were to get a Mac, how different is it to a PC?

Basically, a PC is like doing it with a condom, and a Mac is like doing it bareback.

Also, a PC is like Mussolini, and a Mac is like Hitler's sexy niece.

Dude, I get the message that a Mac is sexier than a PC. But what about the technical shit? Are you still using a Mac?

I would never wear a condom on my fist.

I'm not using a Mac at the moment. In terms of actually using it with the slightly different system for switching between programmes and all, after a couple of days you will adjust and it becomes second nature.

As for programmes, for every Windows programme there is a much better designed Mac equivalent. And if there isn't, nowadays you can boot the Mac into Windows if need be.

The windows look different and have buttons in different places. And the menu bar’s always at the top of the screen.

I dunno. What programs do you run on your PC?

Maybe use someone’s mac for an hour?

thanks - I mostly use torrents for downloading stuff and avi files for viewing. Also use Photoshop, Dreamweaver etc. I don't use outlook but probably would be looking to use something like Word and Excel.

I know I should be more clued up but I'm sort of in a 10 years ago mindset when the two really weren't compatible. Any advice welcomed!

The PC versions of the programs you have won’t run on a mac, but most popular programs have mac versions.

Microsoft sell versions of Word, Excel and the rest of Microsoft Office for the mac.

Adobe sells Photoshop and Dreamweaver for the mac.

There are lots of mac programs that download torrents; I use Transmission.

I don’t know about avi files, I never download them.

Re: avi files. VLC is usually happy with them on Windows (it can depend on the technical innards a bit), and there's a MacOS version. Since it's free, it'd be worth a try if MacOS doesn't come with an appropriate player anyway (which it might).
