Playing catch-up...

Guess I've fallen a bit behind in updating the journal...I don't think that I can really effectively catch up, so maybe the best thing to do is summarize

As I have written of before, it was time for me to move on, and I did.  The new position is "Firm Administrator," and is similar to what I was doing before, but a bit more financial and a bit less administrative in nature (which is good).  It's taken a while to learn everyone's names and the general "feel" of the firm, but I think I'm going to like working there.  Although learning the software has been a huge challenge…  I've got a ways to go, but I at least feel like I can find my way around it.  The first few days of the job and the transition from Polsky & Associates were stressful enough that I lost 5 pounds.  This is not the way to lose weight.  But I definitely like it, and look forward to going in each day.

This was fun, and a good way to ease the transition between above-mentioned jobs.  I played golf decently, but mostly just enjoyed my parents' company and the weather (when it wasn't raining, that is).  We ate amazingly good Chinese food at a restaurant in Wausau (I know, this was a surprise to us, too). Their new cabin (smaller structure on adjacent property to the old house) is cozy and wonderful--it really brings the outdoors inside, to use a cliche.  And I finally remembered to pick up cheese curds on the way home...

Taking a quick summer course in Investments...I figure since I have an IRA, it may be useful to understand a little about the stock market (this also helps to keep my registration current over the summer so that I don't have difficulties getting back into the Accounting coursework in the Fall).  The instructor is engaging, and seems to understand the diverse nature of the adult-education environment.

I think that really sums up how I've been spending my time.  Hopefully, I'll start doing a better job of updating this thing...now it’s time for Corey’s family reunion, so we’ll be spending the weekend in southern Indiana.  I hope the cool weather lasts and makes its way out there...
