And the writing everyday thing. I am convinced that i would not have ever finished a project ever had i not started trying to stay in that particular groove myself. Thank god for LJ.

I've been enjoying the posts - I somehow missed that this was a "chosen assignment" daily thing.

I use a similar nudge to get at least some chunk of homework done every day - even when it's not due for a while. Unfortunately for me, I'm slow enough that this still leaves a quantity to be madly dashed through just before the deadline.

Well, I look at it as developing good writing habits. I want to be a writer, so I need to take the time to write. Seems simple enough, but it's harder than it sounds.

I hit upon this idea last week, after I had a friend over. We spent a bit of time huddled around my computer, showing each other some assorted "cool stuff" we'd found on the web, youtube clips and fun webpages and so on, and after he left, it came to me that doing a freeform blog of such things might be a nice way to go. I don't want to structure it too much, or set any arbitrary boundries on this. If I find something cool that I think is worth sharing with friends, I'll blog about it. I've got a list of at least twenty items to write about, and I add new ones as I think of them every day.
