I'm waiting on the last episode of "Samurai Sentai Shinkenger", which aired last week and hasn't been subbed yet, before I write an article about that show, which has been my favorite sentai to date. I've never warmed to any of the more recent Kamen Rider incarnations because for the most part they seem they should have been 'metal hero' shows and the whole KR aspect seems tacked on, at least to my (admittedly ignorant on this subject) eyes.
I await your Shinkenger review, as it looks like the first Super Sentai show created since (oh, god, the series after Kakuranger, I can't remember!) without the shadow of Saban/Disney overarching the needs of the production was a full on winner.
If it's out there somewhere, you might want to track down the 'super rescue' trilogy, Winspector, Solbrain and ExceeDraft. Solbrain in particular is a very slick and interesting show and if I could get the whole thing on DVD (legit) I would do so in a heartbeat.

I also found a raw copy of the new sentai, Tensou Sentai Goseiger, and it's... interesting. It didn't grab me as much as Shinkenger did from day one, but the action sequences are nice. The red ranger barely looks sixteen, though. I'll wait on the sub of at least the first few episodes before I decide to follow the show or not.
Bottom line on Shinkenger -- still one of my favorites, but not without weak points. But by far more marks in the Pro column than the Con. More details coming, as noted above. :)
