How do they make maltesers?

Perfect sphere of crispyness surrounded by an even coating of chocolate with no flat edges.

Why do 100 sit ups hurt 2 days after doing them?

I'm being painfully informed how many times I laugh or cough in a working day.

how maltesers are made strikes me as something that we should know. like one of those things you just know, probably because blue peter once went to their factory.

it happens more often than you would think. imagine my surprise when, at 18, i was on pills in a chill out room in a club and had an overwhelming urge to make tracey island out of giant jenga.

I just puzzle about the impracticality of evenly coating a sphere with chocolate without lots of spheres forming a huge multi-sphere malteser mass.

many giant hairdryers?

i always like to think that hamsters and giant wheels are involved somewhere in everything i don't understand.

not giant hamsters, mind. that's just silly.

Oooh just catching up on your posts! You live like a KING! I'm glad you had fun on your trip.

And you have a g/f? WTF? I'd better stop divorcing Mr. Demon then. Damn.

You hurt after 100 sit ups? Stop doing them sweetie, your body is fine as it is. ;)

They put the crispy insides in something that resembles a giant tumble dryer, and spray them with a fine mist of chocolate. Round and round they tumble, until they're evenly coated and perfectly round. Then they stop spraying the chocolate and keep tumbling them til they dry. Then they get coated with something (the shiny surface) to stop the chocolate melting too easily in your hand. Then they tumble them some more til that bit's dry.

I think I saw it on Blue Peter once.

Whoa!! 'fine mist of chocolate' what a great idea.

Spray me in chocolate and throw me to the lesbians...
