I might as well admit that this is what I've wanted to do for a while, update my livejournal. but it never seemed worth it until ross threated to take down my link. and then it still wasn't quite worth it but I have a paper I just don't want to write and this is, at least, positive procrastination ( Read more... )

Emily, you need to come to my part of the woods. I miss you. I would like to send you a letter. E-mail me your address. DHealey@ucsc.edu

done. plus much more rambling. I miss you, too, and I even miss your woods. I don't know why, but I think that a part of me will always want to be at santa cruz.

Hey Emily,
I knew it was your birthday in the neighborhood (in the calculus sense) of several days. At first I thought of sending you a card, then a facebook message, but I ended up doing nothing but sitting there inwardly celebrating your birthday. Sorry.
I'm gonna start reading your entries again. I decided that not reading my friends page gets boring.

I knew it was your birthday too. so, happy uncelebrated birthdays to us. somebody (for some reason I think it was one of jocelyn's roommates) said that 19 is the dirty age. I'm not quite sure if I agree, but it does seem somehow sexier than 18.

and we'll see if more entries appear to be read. I hope so.

hope all is well at nerd school!

I agree about the age thing. For some reason, ever since my childhood I've perceived even numbers as feminine and odd numbers as masculine. So I felt like I was a sweet little girl when I was 12, 14, 16, 18, etc.. and older and more mature when I was 13, 15, 17, 19, etc. Am I the only one who thinks like this?

quite possibly. but the odd numbers do seem somehow edgier. I've always liked odd numbers.

it's interesting that you equate masculine with "older and more mature." *insert gender politics diatribe here* yup.

Emily, I'm sad that you and I haven't followed through with this whole "let's be friends" thing, and while this is a totally unnatural way to do this, do you want to do something some time? It's late enough in the semester already, and especially since I will be gone next semester and you (probably?) the semester after that... well, maybe I'll save this for an e-mail to be written when I don't have an all-nighter in front of me.
