I know this must be really weird to get a response from someone you haven't talked to in a long time on a really old entry, but I'm writing it anyway. I was compelled to after reading about your anxiety of being eaten by squirrels, which I totally sypathize with. Anyway, I came across your journal through a link on Laura's blog, and ended up reading everything you wrote this semester. I hope that doesn't scare you. Anyway, how are things going for you? I'm in Berlin until the end of July, and then I'll be back at Swat in a few weeks. Things here are good. I should really just write you an email, as this isn't really the most appropriate forum for such an exchange, but won't it be fun to get the little lj notice in your mail? Anyway, hope to hear from you soon.

robert! honestly, it's weirdest to get the comment on an old entry. particularly because now I'm inclined to read through all of my old entries too, which I admit I do way too often for my own good. it's a combination of marvelling at myself-then and wondering why I didn't write more. and going "oh yeah! I forgot about that!"

anyway, I've been hearing bits and pieces about you through caitlin and other sources. sounds like berlin has been really great. as the plan is now, I'm off to paris next fall, so I won't be at swat until next january. crazy, innit? right now I'm home, working and relaxing. I'll try to come up with some exciting stories for a not-so-public forum.

now we can change to email if we want. but I had to respond at least once in kind.
