[For the most part, Shinzon was inordinately pleased with his work. The people he'd wanted dead were largely dead. Well - they had been. A pity he had to deal with their return. [Kahlan felt awful, which was understandable considering she'd basically disintegrated during lunch the previous day. She basically spent most of her time in the infirmary resting. She didn't have her journal with her, so there was really nothing else she could do.

When she saw Shinzon walking over, she was surprised to see him. He hadn't exactly been in the best of moods the last time they spoke. Then he held out her journal for her and Kahlan was grateful for it, but the fact that he'd done it left her a little baffled.]

[He nodded once, glancing at her face before looking away to take in the rest of the full infirmary.]

What happened? [He wasn't the best actor, but he wasn't terrible, either. There wasn't much concern in his voice, but there was certainly curiosity.]

I..don't know. I was eating lunch and then there was something in the air. After that it was the most horrible thing I've ever experienced. [She shuddered thinking about it.]
