Everyone turned to see that Sooyoung had woken up. She struggled to sit up, and Kyuhyun immediately helped to prop her up on the hospital bed.

Jessica gently replied, "It's not forever, honey; but I'm afraid that your legs may remain quite weak for awhile. What I'm most worried about is that Yoona's wedding is in one month away, and at the very least you'll need three weeks to recover. You'll still have to go for physiotherapy after being discharged, so I don't think you will have time to practice for the wedding night."

"Its ok, I'll find replacements, maybe I'll ask my student Luna-" Yoona quickly assured as Sooyoung cut in.

"No, I'll do it. I won't break my promise Yoong, and I know that you want me to perform the most. We've worked so hard on the choreography that I'm not going to let it get to waste. I'll plan my time properly, Sica, I'll find time to practice-"

"I'll help." Kyuhyun's interruption surprised the two ladies in the room. "I can fetch her to and fro from the hospital to the dance studio, and I'll take care of everything. You've got a lot of stuff to handle before the wedding, sis, but I'm free, so I can give you a hand. And since Sooyoung has to spend her time recovering, I'll practice hard too without her supervision - maybe I'll can practice together with Siwon-hyung."

Both of them spoke with such determination and sense, that neither Yoona nor Jessica dared to argue back. After giving Sooyoung a hug, Jessica left the ward to attend to other patients, while Yoona said that she would find Siwon and bring him to the ward to visit Sooyoung after he had assisted in police investigations.

Kyuhyun and Sooyoung were left alone in the room. There was a short bout of silence, before Kyuhyun whispered, "I'm so sorry, Sooyoung."

"Why?" She was surprised, "You have nothing to do with this."

He gently touched her soft brown hair. "I should have ensured that you were safe before leaving your home. I'm so sorry, I should have protected you better."

"You don't have to apologise, its not your fault. I was so stupid to believe that Junho had changed-"

The vision of what happened last night flashed through her mind and she let out a choked sob in fear. Immediately, he grasped hold of her hand tightly.

"He's gone, Sooyoung. Its all over. You can start anew again. I'll always protect you and I'll never let such things happen to you ever again."

Sooyoung turned to look at Kyuhyun. He was gazing at her with full of sincerity and 'was it love?' in his eyes.

She smiled and nodded at him. He felt his heart skip a beat.

"Will you stay with me here?" She asked hopefully.

He nodded in reply.

"Sleep now. You've had a long night." With that, Kyuhyun started singing a lullaby, and within a few seconds, she had fallen asleep, her hand still tightly grasping his. He soon followed after.

------------------------------------------------

"Oppa? Its late, its 11pm already. You've been awake since 2am this morning. Sooyoung has had a long day, she won't wake up till tomorrow. You should go home and take a rest."

Kyuhyun turned to see Yoona and Siwon standing at the doorway. He shook his head stubbornly.

"I can't, I promised Sooyoung that I would stay and that I would be there when she wakes up."

"Kyuhyun, don't be stubborn. Sooyoung wouldn't want to see you in this state when she wakes up, would she? We can come back in the morning. Let's all go home and rest first, shall we?"

Unable to argue with his hyung, Kyuhyun took a last glance at Sooyoung's beautiful sleeping face before the three of them left the ward quietly.

------------------------------------------

Sooyoung woke up in the morning at 3am, initially filled with fear when she realised that Kyuhyun had disappeared. She was about to panic when Jessica entered the room with a bottle of medicine. She sighed in relief.

"Where's Kyuhyun?"

"Geez, you didn't even bother to greet me, Soo; and the first thing you asked me is where is your boyfriend? I'm hurt." Jessica teased.

She blushed under the dim lighting of the room.

"He's not my boyfriend, Sica." She replied.

"Ooh, do I sense sadness in your tone?" Her playfulness earned her a playful slap from Sooyoung.

"Yah! Don't joke around! He's Yoona's elder brother and just a friend, Sica." Sooyoung let out a sigh.

"You are so in love Sooyoung - you're already blinded by love. And most amusingly, so is he. Can't you see that he's deeply in love with you?"

"He is?" She was caught by surprise.

"Yes, you dummy, any fool can see it. Just look at the way he gazes at you. And i overheard your conversation with him before you fell asleep. That guy is hopelessly in love with you, Soo. He even told you he was willing to protect you and take care of you forever! What else could it be?"

"He's just being a nice friend, Sica. He felt guilty that he should have waited for me to return home safely before returning home. And I'm Yoong's best friend and Siwon-oppa's sister, if he treated me badly they would probably beat him up, just like they did to Junho. And besides, he's my student..."

Jessica could only shake her head at Sooyoung.

"I've known Kyuhyun way before you did, Soo. He was the number one jerk in my class in university, famous for breaking all the girls' hearts around school, and he never bothered to take care of any of his girlfriends or even send them home. He's changed so much after he met you, Soo. I've never seen him look at a girl or treat a girl in such a way before. Besides, you're so different around him, so different from when you were with Junho. You should treasure him, Sooyoung." Jessica patted her head gently before taking the bottles and leaving the room, leaving Sooyoung to her own thoughts.

---------------------------------------------

Kyuhyun kept to his words. He had faithfully taken care of everything, and had always stayed by Sooyoung's side, entertaining her with stories and telling her jokes. With his support, Sooyoung had healed really quickly. In three weeks, she was discharged from the hospital.

Sooyoung could no longer deny that she was hopelessly in love with Kyuhyun. He had taken up such a large portion of her heart that when he left the ward everyday, she missed him dearly. When he was by her side, she felt complete. His smiles sent flutters in her heart, and his touch always made her heart beat faster.

Yet, afraid of being rejected by him, she had chosen to insist on going for physiotherapy treatment alone and would practice her dance alone, arguing that he had to rest after taking care of her for three weeks. In actual fact, she was afraid that she would lose him as a friend if she had confessed to him, thus she had started resisting his advances and politely rejected all of his offers to send her around. Kyuhyun couldn't argue back - and so he spent most of his time following her around quietly, watching her from afar and most importantly, ensuring that she was safe.

One day, he just couldn't hold back anymore.

----------------------------------------------

It was one day before the wedding.

Although Sooyoung had healed physically, she hadn't mentally. When she practiced her dance, Junho's piercing voice would always ring through her mind, especially during the part where she had to twirl three times. In an instant, she had lost her concentration, causing her to fall onto the floor with a hard thump.

Upon seeing her fall, Kyuhyun had almost ran into her room to help her up. Yet, he stopped when he saw her pick up herself again and try again, her pretty face screwing up in concentration as she willed herself to try again.

She fell again.

Again.

And again.

And again.

And again.

Tears were starting to fall from her eyes, but she never gave up.

She stood up, took and deep breath, and tried again. As usual, her legs gave way, and she closed her eyes and felt herself fall again, for the umpteenth time...

Until she fell into a pair of strong and sturdy arms.

She opened her eyes, to see Kyuhyun gazing at her with such intensity, she could not look away.

The music was still playing. Kyuhyun gently helped her up, and guided her through the music.

"Dancing isn't about the memorising of steps. It's about feeling your body move to the beat." He said, as he twirled her effortlessly through the air.

Wasn't that what I told him?

She followed his dance steps, her body moving along to his; she had brushed against his pants by accident and had felt something there; she had allowed him to guide her through the entire dance. In that few minutes, it seemed that the world around them ceased to exist, there was only her in his eyes, and him in her eyes. They danced as if they had did so forever, when it was actually the first time they were dancing together.

Finally, the music came to an end. Kyuhyun and Sooyoung stared at their intimate position from the mirror, before glancing at each other breathlessly.

"I couldn't stop worrying about you" He said.

She couldn't reply. His hands were still encircled round her waist, and his thumb absent-mindedly rubbed her back, sending chills of pleasure down her body.

"I won't let you get hurt anymore." He removed one hand to wipe her tear-stains, and she arched her back in response, aching for his touch again.

With that, he tilted her head to face him and bent down his head closer to hers. Sooyoung closed her eyes, awaiting...
BAM!!!!!!

In horror, Sooyoung had attempted to jump away from him, but he was too strong - instead she was pressed close against him, feeling the heat radiating from him.

"Sooyoung-unnie! I wanted to ask you about..." Her student, Luna trailed off when she saw Sooyoung's blushing face and Kyuhyun's deep, ragged breathing.

"Oops! My apologies, unnie and Kyuhyun-sshi. I didn't mean to disturb you!" Luna apologised profusely before leaving the room hastily.

The mood was spoilt and Sooyoung wanted to scream out loud at Luna. Kyuhyun was slightly anxious. Would she slap him for attempting to kiss her?

He finally let Sooyoung go. "I have to prepare for tomorrow's performance. Rest well and I'll see you tomorrow."

As he approached the doorknob, Sooyoung cried, "Wait!"

Before he could turn around, she had already given him a backhug. "See you tomorrow. And... stay safe." She whispered

He nodded in reply. "I will."

As Kyuhyun left the dance studio, there was a spring in every step he took. He was now sure - very sure that Sooyoung cared about him too. He smiled.

See you tomorrow, Sooyoung... I can't wait.
