 [The audio to the journal turns on and,  albeit a New Feather, the dictation that comes across is clear, if the voice accompanying shaken up. She tries to keep it under wraps, but the slight, shrill sound can be heard during the breaks of her speech.]

Did it actually just turn on--? Odd. [A brief pause to gather her wits before speaking.]

[Instant perking up.]

Hermione! Welcome back!

[...oh right, she doesn't seem to remember that last visit.]

I'm Rydia, a volunteer at the Welcome Center. I can show you where to retrieve your things and answer whatever other questions you have.

[Voice]

[At the sound and words, Hermione could only figure it was someone who knew her formerly. As much at it made her mind twist in confusion, she wondered how many people there were. A year and a half's worth.]

[She takes a breath, bracing herself.]

It's a pleasure to meet you again, Rydia. [Hermione's sincere at least.] Harry has been telling me a little and one of the others have sent me a guide. I haven't gotten to look much at the latter yet, with everything, I mean. [Clearing her throat.] There's plenty of questions I'd like to ask, actually.

[Voice]

You're certainly welcome to do so. Have you been directed towards town, at least?

It'd probably be better if I read through the guide before asking questions, as to not get ahead of myself. Oh, yes, Harry told me a direction to head and Ron sent out a patronus. I should be fine there.

[ ... wait. wait. She hears the other conversations first -- particularly what she says to Harry -- and just ... pauses.

... again, the same story ...

She tries a smile. ]

Hermione. I guess I'm probably not the first person to tell you ... you're back.

[voicesreason]

[She's starting to feel really awful at not remembering any of these people, but try as she might she doesn't remember a thing of it.]

Hardly, it seems as if I knew quite a few people before. [Pause.] It feels as if I should I apologize for not remembering anyone here.

No, you don't have to! It's okay. It's happened to other people before. [ shakes her head. ] Anyway, my name is Xion. It's good to see you again, Hermione.

[voicesreason]

Still. [She wasn't trying to be rude, but it was an aggravating matter for her. Knowing but not knowing. She had to trust the former her's judgement, though. And Harry's and Ron's, of course.] It's a pleasure to meet you again, Xion.

Hermione. I'm glad to see you again, but I'm sorry that it's here.

[voicesreason]

[Another person who knew her. The frown at these thoughts only became deeper on her end.]

Something tells me it wouldn't have been possible for us to meet outside of her.

We knew each other through the DA. You created it here like at home, and you were its head. I joined awhile ago, but, since you left, not much has been done. I'd like to help if you begin again.

[voicesreason]

[This much was news to her. Of course, she hadn't had the chance to discuss much with the others seeing as they were more concerned with getting her to the house.]

I--I hadn't known, but of course I'd love to... I should talk to the others before anything, to see where they stand on the matters and what they planned to do. [A breath.] According to Harry I really wasn't gone all too long.

[Two months. Not nearly as long as he had been here or apparently she had, as well.]

[voicesreason]

[Is that what you call Luceti, Hiccup, fun?]

Some of the others have told me and... you're right there. Even knowing the little more I do it still hardly makes any sense at all.

[voicesreason]

[Well, Viking fun must make it look tame sometimes!]

I'd be hard pressed to think anyone could, really. [Oh, Hiccup. She's not sure she wants to be welcomed, especially after learning people knew her before. At least you seem to not have.] As odd as that is to hear, thank you.

[She was never going to get used to this, Hermione decided. People knowing her, for a moment she wonders if that's how Harry constantly felt. Still, there was an offer of a small smile.]
